Karim Helal, the Managing Partner of e-tendering platform Monaqasat, a startup pitched in the Startup Demo, discusses how he spent two years in research and development before launching the platform in February 2009.

Helal discusses the chicken-and-egg problem he faced in creating the platform, which is designed to streamline the tendering process: in order to have tender issuers, he had to have bidders, yet in order to have bidders, he had to have tender issuers.
