Maghreb Startup Initiative Announces Winners of Intel Global Challenge

The Maghreb Startup Initiative has now announced the winners from a regional competition who will go on to represent the Maghreb region at the yearly Intel Global Challenge, this year in Berkeley, California from November 5-8th.

The winner is Chifco, a Tunisian consulting company that focuses on helping small and medium-sized businesses with project management, energy saving, monitoring, and remote monitoring, while also suggesting ways to reduce energy costs by using greener technologies and optimizing their day-to-day setup.

The runners up include DiaLife from Algeria, a online health management platform for diabetics (whose team also placed as finalists in Microsoft's global Imagine Cup Final) and SlamTech from Morocco, a mobile app that detects car accidents and notifies the authorities.

Others shortlisted in the competition included ERDK Kenitra, NETpeas, Shopup, and Alto Hip in Morocco, Modern Wall, Dial Life, and Informed in Algeria, and SAT Tunisia in Tunisia.
