In Gaza, two entrepreneurs, Ahmed Alyan and Moaz Hamid, decided to launch a flash deals website called Safaka, planned to launch before the end of March 2013. The platform will gather buyers to reduce the cost of aggregated offers available in Gaza, to make it easier for customers to find what they need quickly at the lowest price. The startup is now operating from Gaza's Business and Technology Incubator (BTI).

Thus far, the team relies mostly on friends and family to monitor the available deals and present them based on the community's demand.
