Mobile OS Trends in the Arab World [Report]

This short report, by Froot Apps, shows how the 22 million smartphone users in the Arab world are consuming phones and downloading apps in the mobile market.

Android leads the pack with 40% of market share, iOS accounts for 35% of the market with Blackberry at a distant third (15%) and Windows behind that (10%).

The top download categories on Google Play are action (18.7%), tools (9.6%), and social (9.1%). On the AppStore, top categories are games (38.6%), social networking (21.4%), and entertainment (5.5%). Gaming is by far the most popular search category on both operating systems.
