What Do You Buy Online? We Ask the Crowd [Wamda TV]

After the panel on “Case Studies in E-retail” on Forum Day 2 of ArabNet Beirut, we asked the audience whether they make purchases online, what they usually buy, and what payment method they use. Their answers are indicative of the state of e-commerce in the region, each using very different payment methods, or not yet being comfortable with online shopping.

Challenges to e-commerce remain but, with new payment options like PayPal opening up across the region, consumers are warming up to making purchases online. See our overview of the e-commerce markets in Lebanon and Egypt for more information.
