Global WebVR Hackathon
The Global WebVR Hackathon has launched and will run till February 1, 2017.
The idea behind the hackathon is simple: people from all over the world get to participate in this online ‘virtual’ hackathon which aims to develop new VR-based ideas and applications. ING Bank is also running a parallel micro-hackathon which hopes to introduce new VR technologies into the world of finance, where the entire client experience would be transformed in today’s digitally driven age.
The hackathon runs online for a period of 90 days as teams work on developing their concepts in a timely manner, keeping in mind that they have to garner as many votes as possible in order to make it to the finals.
The deadline for submission is February 1st, after which a panel of industry veterans review the top ten concepts and announce the winning teams on February 15, 2017.
The hackathon's first prize winners will receive 30,000 Euros and a slot in a 6-month VR accelerator program in Amsterdam so that they can continue to develop their winning concept.
