Ahmed El Alfi, the Chairman of Cairo-based venture capital firm Sawari Ventures, discusses the mistakes that entrepreneurs make when they pitch to him as an investor. "The mistake is that they've come too early, before they have their thoughts fully gelled and their plan fully fleshed out in their minds. They haven't asked themselves all of the questions."

As he discusses his challenges as an investor, El Alfi also notes that entrepreneurs need to focus on the big picture issues. "If they haven't thought about the high level issues, they're probably light on the potential variances in the more detailed issues."
