Ajjerni: A Neighborhood Goods Swapping Platform for the Arab World [Wamda TV]
At Startup Weekend Amman, young Jordanian Abed el Hamid Ghrandoukha, the founder of online marketplace taltol.com, pitched the idea for Ajjerni, a social online market that allows users to offer and rent goods.
"This idea is new in the Middle East," says Ghrandoukha. "I decided to pitch it at Startup Weekend a week before the start of the event, and today we have a prototype ready and the website is under construction, to be launched soon."
It's not dissimilar to recently-launched Swaphood, however. Ajjerni will also target individuals and companies renting goods as well as services, and an insurance system will be implemented to guarantee the quality of the goods and cover any losses.
"We are hoping to get funding to further develop our services soon, and in the same time we are planning on having two main revenue streams: paid subscriptions for regular clients, especially companies, and advertisement".
