Mobile App Startup Localizes Daily Deals in Malaysia [Wamda TV]
In an interview at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, Fadzli Anuar, the founder of Voucheres, a mobile app for local ad promotion based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, discusses the platform and how it fits naturally into the consumer culture in Malaysia.
By aggregating coupons, promotions, and deals from international and local merchants across Malaysia, Voucheres is localizing daily deals to make sure they are local, relevant, and in real time. Participating merchants can also see how many users view their products and when and where they redeem a deal.
Anuar also discusses the business culture and opportunity in Malaysia and compares consumer demand between South East Asia and the GCC. By building on the strong smartphone usage in Malaysia, Voucheres is designed for both businesses and merchants to find each other more easily.
At the end of the day, merchants want loyalty, says Anuar, and that is what Voucheres is trying to enable. He also discusses his outlook on the future of the global daily deals market and how it should iterate to stay relevant.
