TURN8 hackathon in Dubai this May

TURN8 is organizing a hackathon on May 1-2, 2015, in Dubai, UAE. The event will begin at 12:00 PM GST and will end the following day at 7:30 PM GST. This hackathon is focused on web and mobile technology.

Winners will be qualified for the final round of investment and will go to Dubai for four months where they will receive mentoring to shape their business idea, training in the basics of launching and running a business, and $30,000 each in seed funding.

This event focuses on a set of themes:

-Web or mobile applications

-e-commerce portals
-Arabic content advancements
-Education and e-learning enhancements
-Sustainable living technologies
-Crowdsourced services
-Social networking innovations
-Healthcare technologies 

Participants must come in teams of at least two members composed of a technical expert and business development person. The ideas must be global, creative, and easy to launch within 120 days.

TURN8 is a seed accelerator program that scouts for startups and entrepreneurs with marketable ideas and supports them with funding, mentoring and training in exchange for a stake in the resulting business.
