Wamda Capital launches podcast series

 

Investment firm Wamda Capital published yesterday its first podcast episode on Soundcloud.

In this episode, Fares Ghandour sits down with Fadi Ghandour, the firm’s chairman and CEO, and Khaled Talhouni, a managing partner at Wamda Capital.

“We will not invest in companies where the founder is wiped out; I don’t want to be investing in investors, I want to invest in entrepreneurs, and if an investor thinks he is great because he took 50 percent of a company, that’s a recipe for an absolute disaster,” said the chairman while discussing the investment scene in the region and Wamda Capital's approach.

The 30 minute discussion touches on valuation, and market size in the Arab region, in addition to the Wamda Capital team sharing tips and advice for tech startups.

“We don’t see ourselves necessarily as just another investment firm, our focus is on building the soft infrastructure to have a vibrant tech and startup ecosystem,” said Talhouni.
