Bahrain’s football app Malaeb closes a seed round investment

Bahraini app Malaeb, which helps users match players and book a football field, has recently closed a seed round for an undisclosed amount, from Raed (the lead investor), 500 Startups, Vision Ventures, and Inspire.

The team is currently focusing on expanding to Saudi Arabia, potential other GCC countries, and other surrounding countries soon after, according to CEO Ahmed AlRawi. They might also be adding more sports fields to the app.

The startup is now operating in four countries and has over 100,000 registered players. Malaeb helps players match and join a game that is happening in their area and each game needs 14 players.
