Makwa raises six-figure investment

Cairo-based laundry services startup Makwa secured a six-figure investment from an angel investor.

The investment will be used to "scale the team, upgrade its technology, and accelerate its expansion into new areas," the startup said.

Customers can use the app to schedule pickup and delivery time slots, give special instructions, track orders, and pay online.

Makwa partners with vendors in the areas in which it operates who clean customers’ clothes, the statement highlighted.

“The investment coupled with the investor’s experience will help us continue to revolutionize the laundry industry for consumers and laundry professionals alike,” Makwa Founder and CEO Aly Eteiba noted.
