TOP & Social Watchlist Report: Facebook Benchmarks in the Middle East [Report]
For entrepreneurs looking to see how their performance on Facebook fares against other startups in the MENA region, this downloadable report by The Online Project (TOP) in collaboration with Social Watchlist details key performance indicators (KPIs), and showcases the behavior of the top corporate Facebook pages in the MENA region.
TOP, a startup out of Endeavor Jordan, identifies and analyzes eight core industries to evaluate who are the top performing Facebook pages per industry, rating pages based on community size, “talking about this,” engagement ratio, content performance, and response time.
After looking through the report's numbers, it's clear that brands should not solely focus on increasing their fan base as an indicator of success, a common misconception. In fact, the engagement rate is a much stronger indicator of how relevant a brand is to its customers.
In the mobile industry, for example, Nokia Egypt is on top with 1,378,544 fans, but comes last in engagement ratio with 3.1%, and content performance with 0.15%. They rate fifth in response time with 460 minutes, whereas Blackberry Egypt comes first in engagement ratio with 34.5% and doesn't even appear in the fan base benchmark.
Brands should be constantly looking for creative ways to engage with their fan base, supplemented with targeted advertising for growth.
