Eat raises $5 million in Series B funding

Bahrain-based restaurant booking application Eat has raised $5 million in Series B funding, led by 500 Startups, the Derayah Venture Fund, and MEVP, alongside other angel investors and family members.

With this investment, the company will be able to expand its restaurant selection from 1000 to 5000 and increase its footprint in the GCC countries.

Back in 2014, Eat raised an initial investment of $100,000 from the Bahrain Business Angels Company. The company was founded a year earlier by Nezar Kadhem.

Eat already operates in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and eyes expansion to the Saudi Arabia market.
