Egypt-based agri-tech startup ReNile has closed a funding round of $450,000 from undisclosed investors. Founded in 2017, ReNile focuses on end-to-end smart farming solutions using technology to boost agriculture productivity.

ReNile will also expand into Saudi Arabia, establishing a subsidiary to manufacture its systems, as well as a strategic partnership in Kuwait. The CEO also revealed that the company is targeting winning contracts worth EGP40 million during the first quarter of 2025 and expects ReNile to become a billion-dollar company in five years.

This startup finally gained visibility after it was featured on Shark Tank. According to Al-Tawab, although ReNile secured a $150,000 funding commitment before going on the show, it increased to USD 450,000 after its appearance, an indication of how the program drew in investors.
