International StartUps Meeting - Tunis, Tunisia
The International Start-Ups Meeting (ISUM) is an international initiative by AIESEC Alumni to connect startup enthusiasts to allow them to learn from each other’s experiences, build an international team, and peak investor interest. To enter the startup challenge, you have to register for ISUM by April 30 and attach your business plan, executive summary and financials.
The event, which will take place from May 17-19, 2013 in Tunis, will offer three different session formats to empower participants.
1. An exchange of experiences between startup founders from different countries. This session will allow participants to get to know each other in the “global start-up village” offering a chance for participants to showcase their offerings.
2. Workshops and master classes. Participants will learn tips and advice from entrepreneurs themselves on topics including: how to craft your business plan, how to market to your target customers, how to create and manage your team, how to build partnership agreements, and how to raise funds, with business angels and/or VCs.
3. Pitch sessions and startup challenge. If you are ready to pitch in front of a jury of advisors and investors, ISUM will be your opportunity to do so. Each selected startup will have 7 minutes to present and 8 minutes of questions and answers with the jury. This is an opportunity to test your pitch and get immediate feedback. Participants can also learn by watching other start pitches.
At the startup challenge, the same jury will determine the best projects who will be awarded in-kind services by the event sponsors.
