Jordan's windy solution [Infographic]

When it comes to natural resources, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is poor.

According to the World Bank they import over 90 percent of their energy needs.

Foreign interest, from the World Bank to the South Koreans, combined with local has pushed wind farms to become a huge part of the solution, so the government has spent the last five years putting out international tenders for construction.

There are also a number of local wind players keen to solve the energy shortage.

By 2020 the government aims to have 10 percent of the countries needs accounted for, in the form of 1,200MW from wind farms.
